Something Popped
The Seahawks and their depleted offensive line took another big hit with the loss of OL Russell Okung for the rest of the season.

The 2nd year big man drafted in the 2010 first round, 6th overall will be missed. In fact this injury will be BIGGER than most people think.
Who plays left tackle now that you feel even remotely confident about?
The thing that stings even worse is the fact that the injury came on a play late in the Eagles’ win last Thursday night when Seattle already had the game in the bag.
Okung suffered a torn pectoral muscle injury in the 31-14 win over the Eagles when Philly DE Trent Cole threw him away from the play.
While the play may not have been a dirty one Seattle head coach Pete Carroll called it, “a bad play.”
Carroll went on to say, “He got grabbed under the arm and thrown down to the ground.
It had nothing to do with the play.
It wasn’t a late hit.
It might look like he was trying to disengage and that might be what they say and all, but it was really late and it was really out of line unfortunately.”
The pair of rookie offensive linemen of John Moffitt and James Carpenter already suffered season-ending knee injuries this season and Okung is the latest to go down.

LT Russell Okung has a torn right pectoral muscle. You guessed it. He's out for the year.
What is interesting is that even with all the turmoil on the line RB Marshawn Lynch has been stellar as of late and has rushed for over 100 yards in 4 of his last 5 games including going for a career high 148 yards in the win over the Eagles.
Okung had overcome ankle problems that plagued him in his rookie season and this season he had become the rock of the offensive line.
When he was injured he looked as if he stopped on the play after the whistle had blown, but was still threw to the ground by Cole.
The Seahawks confirmed this news on Friday evening, and Okung will require 6 months of rehabilitation.
This means if the left tackle suffers any setbacks, he could potentially miss some of the Seahawks 2012 training camp.
What we Know
Guard Mike Gibson has been signed to take his roster spot, so it looks like Paul McQuistan will take Okung’s place down the stretch.
O-Line Update
In some other good news for the Seattle offensive line John Moffitt, who himself is already on IR after his season ending knee injury, was found to use performance enhancing drugs and he is suspended for the last 4 games of the season.
He obviously will not play being on IR, but league rules state that a player can serve a suspension while on IR.
Oh, well, at least that is some decent news for the 5-7 Seahawks that still have slight playoff hopes.
